Myth: I will be in surgery for a long time

Fact: The operating time of surgery is as short as 30 minutes to 2 hours

The surgery operating time will depend on the type of surgery you will undergo. Total operating time for surgery is usually between 30 minutes and 2 hours.1

The short operative times are possible because of laparoscopic surgery, which involves small incisions. It also means a shorter hospital stay, faster recovery, smaller scars, and less pain than open surgical procedures.2 Click here to know what to expect on the day of surgery.
