Exercise is considered as a medicine for good health. Exercise not only helps us lose weight but also lowers the risk of diseases and improves our overall sense of well-being.1

The main types of exercises are:

  • Cardio – Cardio involves any exercise which increases you heart rate. This type of exercise improves circulation, makes bones stronger, improves sleep, reduces stress, and increases energy. Examples are running, cycling, swimming, and aerobic classes, like zumba.
  • Strength Training – Strength training involves exercises which help different muscles on the body become stronger and more powerful. This type of exercise tones the muscles, makes bones stronger, and helps burn calories. Examples are using weights, or press-ups and squats.2
