Myth: Cost of bariatric surgery is high

Fact: Cost of living with obesity is higher than cost of bariatric surgery

Obesity leads to a number of conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease. These conditions require expensive medicines, hospital visits, and care for a long time. Obesity surgery can cure or reduce the severity of these conditions. So, you require less medicines, your hospitalization due to these conditions may be avoided and hence, you end up spending less money.1

Studies have found that bariatric surgery may have a payback period of only 2 years.2
